Five-Star Rating for Platinum 230

NOKOMIS, Fla., April 26, 2002 — An independent R.V. consumer association has given the Coach House© Platinum™ motorhome its highest rating.

The Platinum 230 received 5 stars in the RV Consumer Group’s RV Rating Book of selected 2002 models. Among hundreds of motorhome brands evaluated, only three manufacturers earned the 5-star rating.

The RV Consumer Group, a nonprofit organization dedicated to RV safety, rated the RVs based on value, reliability and highway control, using its own evaluation of new and used models, as well as owner-satisfaction surveys. The rating book is available from the group’s Web site, www.rv.org.

The Platinum 230, introduced in 2000, is a 23-foot Class C motorhome featuring a patented seamless fiberglass body. The RV Consumer Group evaluated each of the four floor plans available, with both gas and diesel engines, for a total of eight individual ratings. Each of the eight configurations earned the 5-star rating.
Coach House also manufactures the similar Platinum 270 — 27 feet long — as well as the Platinum 231XL which features a slideout. Only the Platinum 230 line was selected for evaluation by the RV Consumer Group. All the models are built in the Coach House plant in Nokomis, Fla., using the same techniques and materials.

Coach House, Inc., has been building small RVs since 1986, when it began converting 19-foot vans into Class B motorhomes at a small warehouse in Venice before moving to its current factory in 1997. Sensing consumer desire for a slightly larger but still maneuverable motorhome, Coach House introduced the all-new Platinum line in the 2000 model year.
